Partners in Learning: Strengthening Adult Interactions

We know that high quality interactions are central to effective early years practice and ensuring all children make progress. In order for interactions to be successful, we need skilled adults.

This session will demonstrate how engaging in effective conversations during child-initiated activities helps children absorb new vocabulary, expand their knowledge, and extend their thinking. We will also reflect on to support the broad range of needs within Early Years classrooms. Delegates will come away with ways to successfully improve the quality of their adult/child interactions, improving outcomes across the curriculum for all children.

Exploring Continuous Provision in Key Stage One: Continuing the Learning Journey!

Designed to support teachers and leaders in Y1 & Y2, this session will focus on how continuous provision can be used effectively to support and extend children’s learning as they move beyond the Early Years. Drawing on the latest international research and offering practical guidance; you will come away with a deeper understanding of how the learning environment can be an invaluable asset in strategic curriculum development and strengthening outcomes for all children.

Friday 19th November 2024

Exploring Early Mathematics

Focusing on the fundamentals of teaching Mathematics in the Early Years, this session is packed with both subject knowledge and practical solutions to enable schools to reflect on their approach to teaching Maths throughout the EYFS.

We will examine the principles that underpin this key early learning in the journey to mastery as we explore the most effective strategies for teaching Maths and offer fresh impetus for teaching Maths with sufficient cognitive, contextual & collaborative challenge.

Connecting Your Curriculum

In this session we invite EYFS Leaders and Teachers to consider how to unlock the true potential of the learning environment. With opportunity to look in detail at key areas of provision and be guided in how to plan the environment to maximise curriculum links.

We will also look at ways to meaningfully connect a curriculum that begins in the Early Years and beyond; exploring the key knowledge, skills, understanding and learning behaviours that children develop as they move through the school and the role of the adult.
