Company Overview

Early Excellence is a well-established, dynamic, and innovative company with an outstanding reputation for supporting schools across the UK and internationally. Specialising in high-quality early years education for children aged 2–7, we focus on school improvement by advising leaders, training teachers, and equipping classrooms and outdoor areas. Passionate about children’s learning and development, our mission is to enhance the educational experience of young learners through exceptional products, services, and professional support.

Early Excellence is committed to Safeguarding and Child Protection, modelling best practice procedures and holding a strong culture for keeping children and vulnerable adults safe.

Position Overview

We are looking for someone who can be the friendly face of our business and represent Early Excellence with every customer they meet. This front line role requires a person who is passionate about exceptional customer service, able to think on their feet, and confident handling moments when plans change — always with calmness and professionalism.

Going the extra mile is essential, from completing deliveries to a high standard to consistently acting in a warm, approachable, and customer focused manner. You will interact with a wide range of people, including our warehouse team, manufacturing partners, and customers, so being open, adaptable, and a strong team player is key.

This is a hands on and physically demanding driving role, reporting to the Transport Team Leader. You will play an important part in bringing our products to customers with a friendly and considerate approach, while also supporting the wider business when needed — working closely with our internal sales team and assisting the goods in and goods out teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Checking, loading, and unloading furniture and resources at a range of destinations
  • Driving a company van to and from schools, nurseries, and event locations, which may require overnight stays
  • Providing on-site assembly and installation of Outdoor Stores and Equipment
  • Carrying out furniture repairs when required
  • Following all health and safety procedures and regulations
  • Maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and compliance of company vehicles

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3 years’ driving experience with a full valid UK manual driving licence and no more than three points
  • Flexible approach to working hours to support delivery times aligned with school opening hours nationwide
  • Highly responsible, reliable, and professional
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively across the business
  • Good vehicle knowledge to complete daily checks and meet all legal requirements
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a practical, solution-focused approach to problem solving
  • Strong numeracy skills with clear oral and written communication

Flexibility is essential, as this role will involve overnight stays. Due to the nature of the position, any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
