During this course we will be exploring the growing body of international evidence relating to high-quality practice and inspirational leadership in the Early Years in schools.
With lots of opportunities for discussion, participants will be able to gain new knowledge, discuss shared concerns and reflect on their own expertise and practice; as they enrich their professional knowledge and focus on how to shape actions for the future development of their Early Years.

Day Two
Wednesday 5th February 2025
Transforming Practice beyond the Early Years
This introductory session is the recommended starting point for those looking to introduce and embed effective continuous provision beyond the early years. It will focus on how to develop an effective environment for learning that meets the needs of all children as they continue into the next phase of their education. Focusing on key aspects of pedagogy and practice; we will consider the key principles of child development and recognise the importance of understanding how children learn, beginning to explore how to plan provision that builds on children’s previous experiences.
Time: 8:30am – 11:30am
£75.00 per person
Supporting children with SEND in the Early Years
At the heart of the Early Yeas practice lies the principle of the ‘Unique Child’ and how we need to value all children’s interests and understand their needs as a learner. This requires us as practitioners to ensure that we create environments that are truly accessible and inclusive to all, and that we have the knowledge and expertise to support learning through skilful interaction and assessment. In this session, we will explore how we can be the best possible learning partner for children with SEND. Drawing on examples of best practice, this course will look at practical ways for you to develop your provision meaningfully and appropriately, your curriculum and your team.

Spotlight on Physical Development
Research is shining an ever-brighter spotlight on the crucial value of high-quality early childhood education and there is growing evidence that both fine and gross motor development are significantly associated with outcomes in emergent numeracy, literacy, and mental flexibility. Together we will look at practical and effective strategies to evaluate and strengthen the teaching of physical development across your team; with lots of opportunities to reflect, enrich professional knowledge and support strategic development of your early years.

Let’s Explore Well-Being and Involvement
Well-being and involvement underpin all aspects of children’s learning and development, and a deep understanding of both will ensure the child is put at the centre of all we do and will thrive. This introductory session will provide an overview of the work carried out at Leuven University by Professor Dr. Ferre Laevers. There will be an introduction to the screening process and the Ten Action Points, the audit tool developed by the Leuven team, and delegates will gain practical ideas about how to develop practice and provision to ensure raised levels of well-being and involvement for their children.
