Position Overview
We are looking for someone who is customer focused, proactive, and committed to consistently meeting deadlines. With a positive, upbeat approach, you will help ensure every order is prepared, packed, and dispatched accurately and on time.
In this role, your day-to-day responsibilities will include preparing and packing customer orders, creating shipping labels, organising shipments for courier and driver collections, and supporting the preparation of international dispatches. You will also contribute to effective stock management by monitoring pre-made stock levels and assisting with regular stock checks.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be self-motivated and highly organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and thrive in a fast-paced team environment. Strong attention to detail, confidence using warehouse technology (including scanners and shipping software), and a willingness to learn new skills are essential. Most importantly, you will bring a positive attitude, a commitment to quality, and a dedication to delivering great service with every order.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the delivery schedule and highlight priority of orders which need to despatch that week, ensuring any amendments or changes are communicated to the team
- Prepare and print shipping labels in advance of packing
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch via delivery drivers and courier services
- Monitor stock levels of commonly used pre-assembled items and build or replenish these when required
- Take part in weekly warehouse team meetings, sharing updates and contributing to a positive and supportive team environment
- Assist with preparing international shipments, including completing packing documentation and preparing pallets for delivery
- Assist with stock takes and support warehouse reorganisations when required
- Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team
- Friendly, approachable, and reliable, with a positive attitude towards teamwork and achieving shared goals
- Comfortable using IT systems or warehouse technology, such as scanning equipment and shipping software
- Well organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively in a busy environment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately, even when working to tight deadlines
- Able to support the achievement of company targets and operational processes
Desirable
- Strong proven customer service skills and a genuine commitment to delivering excellent service
- Experience working in warehouse environments, including familiarity with warehouse IT systems
- A full driving licence
Contract Details
- Contract Type: Full Time
- Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
- Salary: £27,040 per annum
- Contract Term: Permanent
- Location: Elland, West Yorkshire
