Description

Whether you are embarking on opening new provision for this age group, or looking to evaluate and improve your current offer, this course offers support, practical advice and inspirational ideas on how to develop your provision and practice for 3-4yr old children.

Join us for this course which is either offered as a full day event or as a programme of three webinars and has been designed to provide insightful CPD opportunities for your nursery team and build on your learning from our Let’s Explore Effective Teaching in the Early Years course.

We will be exploring the latest research evidence and guidance, including from Ofsted’s Best Start in Life series of reports, and from the Education Endowment Foundation; and we will unpick the latest statutory requirements for this age group.

You will also receive additional resources to use back in school and to enrich your learning and support developments.

Exploring Core Principles of Practice

Start by focusing on the core principles of the EYFS and how these specifically relate to children in nursery and your vision for high quality practice. This will include an exploration of ways to strengthen the Key Person role, building relationships with parents, and reflecting on the power of play.

Securing the Prime Areas

Move on to look at practical examples of how to improve the quality of teaching and learning of the Prime Areas, across the whole learning environment, indoors and outdoors.  We will be exploring the potential of everyday routines to embed learning, including the power of songs and rhymes to support early language development, and strategies to strengthen PSED.

A Habitat for Wonder

End by exploring practical examples of nursery provision from different settings; and reflect on the relationship between resources, teaching, learning and children’s interests. Alongside this we will explore strategies to support children’s levels and Well-Being and Involvement in nursery – creating an inclusive and nurturing environment for all.

Benefits:

  • Explore ways to strengthen the adult role in nursery

  • Gain practical ideas to support parent partnership work

  • Deepen your knowledge of how to maximise the effectiveness of the nursery learning environment
