Exploring the Important Role of Role Play in EYFS

Do the imaginative and role play experiences really support your children’s learning and development effectively? How do you plan for imaginative and role play experiences? Do these experiences reflect the real life experiences and fantasy based interests of the children in your setting?

In this inspiring and practical session we will explore the vital importance of role play and imaginative play in supporting all aspects of children’s learning and development. As part of the session we will outline the key aspects of effective domestic role play, how this should be developed, resourced and enhanced. We will also outline how other environments both indoors and outside can also promote imaginative experiences rich in collaboration, language and storytelling.
