Children’s relationships and early experiences are vitally important in nurturing young learners to ensure they feel secure and valued. Children arrive at early years settings having had a wide variety of experiences. How a setting responds to the knowledge of the children and these prior experiences provides the key to effective and inspiring practice. In this reflective and interactive session we will explore how we can support children to develop a sense of awe and wonder in the world around them. We will examine how vital skills including enquiry, making connections and problem solving can be embedded as part of this approach. Focusing on Understanding of the World and Expressive Arts, we will explore meaningful approaches to exploring Cultural Capital in the EYFS.
