Supporting key skills in the areas of mathematics, physical development and expressive art & design, this set of open-ended resources can be used during child-led, adult supported play as children revisit the construction area time and time again. Mathematical knowledge is developed as children learn concepts of size, shape, space and measure, whilst children’s physical development is supported as children are presented with fine motor challenges. Art & design skills are also nurtured as children express and represent what they know about their world through designing and building from their ideas.
