Use this Set of Wooden Pattern Makers with a set of plain rolling pins to explore dough, children will soon find ways to use these tools to experiment with pattern making and will enjoy making impressions to decorate any cakes, buns and biscuits they make! Good for developing fine motor skills, these wooden craft, pattern makers will encourage co-ordination and control.
By providing a careful selection of dough resources, easily accessible and available every day in early years, EYFS, children’s play will become much richer in learning. Children’s creative thinking will develop as they make a variety of shapes, long rolls and balls as well as make cakes, buns and biscuits. Much mathematical language will emerge linked to colour, size and shape as well as counting, sharing, doubling and halving. Playing with dough in early years, EYFS, is also highly social. Children will relax and talk easily to one another, often in role, as they make family meals and celebrate birthdays together.
The tactile properties of dough make it fun for young children to explore. They find it really easy to use and can manipulate it in many different ways. It is easy to hold, squash and squeeze and can be flattened, prodded and poked, and with support children soon learn how to handle and use the equipment on their own.
