Warehouse Assistant

Job Type: Permanent – 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday), plus additional hours as required.
Location: Elland, West Yorkshire
Hourly Rate: £9.50 per hour, Potential for some overtime

Early Excellence is a highly respected and well-established company, a national leader of Early Years Education specialising in equipping schools and training teachers. We provide an extensive, high-quality range of educational resources, furniture and toys for children aged 3-7yrs selling through ecommerce, retail, and training environments.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Assistant to join our team. Professional and reliable, you will help us provide an unbeatable service in the delivery of furniture, outdoor stores and resources to schools and nurseries across the UK.

You will have the confidence to define and present ideas internally to support continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
A hands-on physically demanding operations role reporting into the Goods Inwards Team Leader, you will be responsible for controlling the flow of stock throughout the warehouse, moving and handling items safely and efficiently.

Role overview:
Warehouse duties to include;

  • Checking off incoming stock deliveries
  • Putting away in appropriate areas
  • Replenishing and overflowing of stock
  • Assisting with the picking of internal transfers and stock takes
  • Helping with the picking and fulfilment of customer orders.

Special Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 2 years warehouse experience preferable but not essential as training will be provided. You should possess good IT Skills and knowledge of software and devices.
  • You should possess good numeracy, oral and written communication. You will be flexible and display a willingness to take on a variety of tasks and see them through to completion.
  • You should possess good organisational skills
  • Forklift licence an advantage
