A set of wild animals will stimulate expression of language, sounds and speaking in character.
To ensure key parts of science and geography are embedded, children need ways to repeat and revisit them. With these wild animals you can reinforce children’s knowledge of continents, oceans and habitats each time they play. Use to enhance small world play, with wet sand resources, or also as placers for counting, ordering and sorting.
As children explore the many different animal habitats, they will learn about which animals live there. Children will love hearing stories about these animals and will soon be able to invent their own stories. Including well known wild animals such as a lion and elephant, these animals will stimulate expression of language, sounds and speaking in character.
Before they can write, children need time to play a story with good quality Small World resources. You can provide a rich context for children’s development of language and creative thinking with these exciting figures.
