From making dens to constructing waterways; we know that children thrive in the outdoors. A well-planned outdoor area is a powerful learning environment for young children. However, with packed timetables and small or nonexistent outdoor areas this isn’t always easy.
Drawing on examples of outstanding practice, this course will give practitioners ideas to optimise the quality of learning in the outside environment; gaining a clearer understanding of how critical skills such as language for thinking, literacy and maths can be effectively embedded and extended.
- Gain a deeper understanding of the potential of outdoor learning
- Clarity of how interpret pedagogical practice outdoors
- Practical solutions for developing your outdoors
