The Power of a Story! Open Evening

Come along to these FREE open evenings and be enriched and inspired by Dr. Patrick Ryan, an internationally acclaimed storyteller.

The Power of a Story!
Led by Dr. Patrick Ryan – PhD, FEA

Patrick Ryan is a storyteller, educator and writer who’s led several innovative storytelling projects including, ‘Kick into Reading’, where he trained professional footballers to tell stories to children. He’s a part-time Research Fellow at the George Ewart Evans Centre for Storytelling, was recently storyteller-in-residence at Moscow Children’s Book Festival, and in 2011 was writer-in-residence at the Centre for Creative Writing and Oral Culture at University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada.

He has published award-winning books as well as various studies and reports regarding storytelling and literacy – and this Summer we will be hosting one of his amazing workshops!

Influenced by the folklore of Britain, Ireland and America; his tales take the forms of legends, rhymes, stories, myth, riddles and word play, which creates a unique and engaging style. Pat will help you unlock the magic of oral storytelling and the workshops will offer a fantastic opportunity for the whole team to learn new and innovative approaches together for use in the classroom.
